Sacred Heart Perfume Balm

$22.00

I have been working on this formula since the beginning of the pandemic, but honestly probably longer. If you trace it’s roots down deep it goes back to the first salve I ever poured, in my kitchen in 2005.

I have been thinking a lot about grief, especially since the beginning of the pandemic. I’ve been working a lot with herbs to remedy grief, herbs for the spiritual heart. Herbs that help us not only process the emotional detritus of hard times, but also lift us emotionally, act as allies to carry us through those blockages in a healing way, while offering the protective space for that healing to happen. And this formula represents the current apex of that work. I’ve named it the Sacred Heart. This remedy is geared toward removing emotional blockages and uplifting the spiritual heart and awakening it to beauty. It is calming and uplifting and supports emotional processing, including that of the grief process. It also has heart protector herbs, which stand as sentinels in moments of open heart. It’s a topical formula that is also a soul medicine. It’s part herbal balm and part botanical perfume. You can put it on your skin over your heart, your inner arm, or anywhere you see fit.

What does it contain? I’ve infused it with a blend of red rose petals, hawthorn berries leaves and flowers, passion flower, yarrow flower, linden blossom, hearts ease, oplopanax, motherwort and borage. It also contains essential oils of rose geranium, palma rosa, frankincense, copaiba balsam oleoresin, and some oakmoss absolute and labdanum to ground it. In addition to beeswax, I’ve also included lovely floral waxes of jasmine (Sambac) and rose (rosa centifolia). It comes in a one-ounce red tin.
